SJP: DT wondered if any of us had heard about what is meant by "cornerstone"? The ASEE plan to engage freshmen is active in how many programs across the nation?

What do students really know about "engineering?" about "computer science"?

DT: The degree of prior "programming" knowledge (experience?) can vary greatly in our initial class - can be a challenge. The amount of prior knowledge about true CS is very limited.

What about motivation? What do you do with a 25% group of class that will not engage? Does Bain have an answer?
